Week 2

This week, I made some sourdough starter. Sourdough starter is a mix of water and flour that ferments for around a week before it can be used. It replaces the yeast in sourdough bread and also gives it the sour flavor.

It’s usually made in a jar, but I didn’t have a big enough jar, so I’m using a bowl. I hope that this doesn’t mess anything up. I will have to keep feeding it throughout the week, which is basically just adding flour and stirring it.

I have also looked at some bakeries to contact. I don’t know which one I would like to get advice from yet, but I think it would be good to contact an expert sooner rather than later.
